Bathroom Remodeling in West Palm Beach, FL: Historic to New
Full bathroom remodeling across Miami and South Florida: clean lines, durable finishes, finished on schedule.
West Palm Beach has a wider bathroom range than almost any city in our service area. You might have a 1925 Northwood bungalow with an original cast-iron clawfoot tub and a pedestal sink that has charm and absolutely no storage. You might have a 1960s SoSo ranch with pink tile that the previous owner described as "a feature". You might have a 2015 new-build in Flagler Park with builder-grade everything. Same city, three completely different remodel scopes.
We remodel bathrooms across all of West Palm: Northwood, El Cid, SoSo, Flamingo Park, Prospect Park, the downtown towers, and the newer Flagler Park and Northwood Hills builds. Real waterproofing, real tile, real craftsmanship, with a quiet respect for the era of the house.
If your house has history, we keep what is worth keeping. If it does not, we give it a finish that will read well for the next 30 years.
West Palm housing eras and what they mean for bathrooms
West Palm Beach has neighborhoods from 1910 (Northwood, El Cid) through new construction this year. The pre-1940 homes have small bathrooms with original tile and fixtures that range from "delightful" to "leaking quietly for 25 years". The 1950s to 70s homes have the standard South Florida ranch bath. The 2000s and newer have builder-grade everything.
City of West Palm Beach historic-district rules
Some Northwood and El Cid streets are inside locally designated historic districts. Interior bathroom remodels generally do not trigger historic review, but exterior changes (a new bath vent terminal, a relocated window) do. We check before we cut, and we file with the historic preservation office if needed.
Palm Beach County permits
We pull the permit through the City of West Palm Beach building department under Palm Beach County, schedule the rough-in and final inspections, and close the permit in your name. The closed-permit record stays with the property and shows clean at resale.
Historic bungalow bathrooms
In a 1925 Northwood or El Cid bungalow we are usually working with a 5x6 or 5x7 bathroom. Plumbing is old, fixtures are charming-but-tired, and the homeowner wants a modern feel with respect for the era. We typically install a tile walk-in shower with a glass enclosure, a furniture-style vanity with a marble top and an undermount sink, a high-tank or modern-traditional toilet, and tile in patterns that read period-correct (subway, basket-weave, hex) without being literal.
Mid-century ranches
For a 1960s SoSo or Flamingo Park ranch, the playbook is the same as Pembroke Park and similar-era stock: full demo, walk-in shower replacing the cast-iron tub, 36 to 48 inch quartz-top vanity, layered lighting. The character we keep, the dated finishes we replace.
New-build builder-grade upgrades
In a 2015 Flagler Park or Northwood Hills new-build, the finishes are the problem, not the framing. We swap builder-grade quartz for slab-grade quartz or stone, swap ceramic for large-format porcelain or natural stone, install frameless glass, and upgrade the vanity. The room reads custom instead of contractor-grade.
Timelines and finish
Historic-bungalow bathroom remodels typically run 18 to 28 working days because of the unknowns inside 100-year-old walls. Mid-century and new-build full remodels run 14 to 21. We give you the realistic finish date in the contract. Service Finance and Renew Financial financing is available for qualified homeowners.

Bathroom in West Palm Beach — FAQ
Still not sure? Call us at (786) 789-2912. We'll give you a straight answer.
Can you remodel a bathroom in a 1925 Northwood or El Cid bungalow?+
Yes, this is a meaningful share of our West Palm Beach work. We respect the era while bringing the room up to modern function and waterproofing. Period-correct tile patterns, furniture-style vanities, marble or quartz tops, and modern plumbing routing behind the scenes. We also check for any historic-district review requirements before we start.
Do bathroom remodels in West Palm Beach historic districts trigger preservation review?+
Interior bathroom remodels generally do not trigger historic review. Exterior changes — a new bath vent terminal in a visible wall, a relocated window — can. We check the parcel before we cut and file with the West Palm Beach historic preservation office if a change requires approval.
Can you do a full bathroom remodel in a new-build Flagler Park home?+
Yes. In newer West Palm builds the framing and slab are fine, so we focus on swapping builder-grade finishes for slab-grade quartz, large-format porcelain or natural stone tile, frameless glass shower enclosures, and a properly sized vanity with real soft-close hardware. The room jumps a full grade without a layout change.
